Fountain Solution Additive for IPA-free printing
VitaFount AlcoFree is a fountain solution additive for sheet-fed and for continuous form printing, particularly for alcohol-free printing.
- Standard dosage 3-4%
- For IPA-free printing or IPA reduction 0 – 5%
- pH-value 4,5 – 5,0 (depends on hardness of water)
- suitable for water hardness until 20° dH
- fast plate runoff, stable ink-water balance
- reduced build-up on blankets and on impression cylinders
- reduced ink built-up on dampening rollers
- no ink feedback in the dampening solution
- no build-up of calcium on ink rollers
- very quick drying of the ink on matt coated paper and non-absorbent substrates
- extended changing-intervals as fountain solution remains clean for a long time (several weeks) stable pH-value and conductivity
- high ink density and gloss on the printed product
- very high scrub resistance of the ink
- suitable for CTP plates
- suitable for conventional and for UV-inks, for special inks and for metal pigment inks VOC approx. 16%
- increased conductivity per % input: 175 μS/cm
- density 1,05 kg/l
Before applying VitaFount AlcoFree, the fountain system must be completely emptied and cleaned thouroughly, preferably with or BöttcherPro Slimex.
The more the IPA content is reduced, ink feedback and debris will increase and accumulate in the fount circulation system. Therefore, we recommend the fountain solution to be changed regularly, e. g. every two weeks. Use BöttcherPro Calcit as a rehardener for RO and soft water.
