Our activity concerns the inspection and issuing of inspection certificates for sheetfed offset printing presses. This is the equipment that is primarily responsible for the quality of all the products produced by the printing house. We can say that it is the main link of the whole production process.
If a printing press is faulty, it will have a much greater impact on the quality of the product than, for example, a faulty folding machine or guillotine.
Of course, we inspect all types of printing equipment. But it’s the printing presses that our team understands most deeply. The fact is that absolutely all our experts are certified by the Heidelberg manufacturing plant in Germany and have long experience working for this respected company. In addition, we try to keep the cost of our services reasonable, so that it is favourable for the customer to engage an independent expert and get an objective opinion on the condition of the equipment from him.
Used equipment is less about the reliability of the brand and more about the attitude of the previous owner. Insufficient and untimely maintenance, hidden accidents or poor quality dismantling can lead to huge costs. Moreover, very often the machine is put up for sale when the first problems appear. They will be masked in order to sell more favourably, or the owner at least will start to reduce the cost of maintenance.
The buyer, manager or owner of a printing house when buying a used printing machine is not always a deep technical expert and has to rely either on his own choice or on the opinion of experts. We offer to safeguard his choice by carrying out a professional inspection.
Most of the test scales at the printer’s disposal are standard scales for spreading, slur/doubling, trapping, dot gain. Almost al of these parameters are TECHNOLOGICAL, meaning they can vary from printshop to printshop depending on the materials used, inks, dampening, humidity in the room, time of year, and even the skill of the printer. We use special tests that allow us to evaluate the sheet guiding system, the condition of the turning device – all those things that affect the quality of printing and depend on the condition of the machine, but do not lie in the field of technology. One of such tests is Karo scale printing, which can only be deciphered by a qualified specialist.
Moreover, the manufacturer has even more specific tests, such as CID, which requires special equipment and is deciphered by a specially trained employee. An ordinary scale will tell you nothing at all about the real condition of the machine.
The customer receives photos and videos, as well as a report with the inspected assemblies and comments on their condition.
If print tests are carried out during the inspection, we can send some prints to the customer by post at the end of the work.
We store the photo and video materials on Google Disk.
The test is carried out by one of our technicians with experience at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, his qualifications are certified and we guarantee a responsible and unbiased test.
The certificate is issued at the time of the inspection. This is usually done before dismantling begins, and our materials can be the basis for resolving possible conflict situations between buyer and seller.
Unfortunately, we cannot influence what happens to the printing press after our technician leaves. But our certificate gives the buyer the assurance that this or that option is not stolen or forgotten in the print shop during dismantling. The buyer can record the condition of the machine with the seller in the transaction documents.
You negotiate with the seller about the inspection opportunity and an approximate time. You then determine which package you would like to order and pay for it. We then agree the inspection dates, book the trip and we leave.
We usually inspect the equipment and issue a report within 1-2 weeks, depending on current workload.
Definitely yes, it makes sense. Even if there is no possibility to start the machine, first of all, it is necessary to check the completeness of the printing machine, availability of assemblies, general optical condition. Even the presence or absence of dust in certain places can say a lot about the real condition of the equipment.
It is best to inspect, strange as it may sound, an uncleaned machine. During the inspection, we will pay attention to how certain assemblies look, and in case of suspicion, we will pay closer attention to them.
We will not be able to determine if all electronic circuit boards are in place or if the machine is operational, but we can assess its technical condition using our standard methodology. Choose our basic package for this. And ask the seller for a written guarantee that the machine is complete and in working order.
You can pay directly on our website using VISA, MasterCard or PayPal. It is also possible to pay to the current account of a company registered in Poland. As we immediately incur decent transport and accommodation costs, we work on a 100% prepayment basis. An exception may be made for permanent partners on the basis of a long-term contract.
If you need a contract or additional documents, please let us know.
We inspect equipment all over the world where it is safe, there are no hostilities or regional conflicts.
Due to understandable costs we can set a fixed inspection cost for the European region only. If you would like to commission us to inspect equipment in other countries, for instance in Asia, America, Oceania, please contact us separately. We need to know the cost of tickets, accommodation, visa requirements.
Yes, you can receive our services free of charge if our services are paid for by our partner who is willing to purchase your printing machine. You may be able to sell your machine more favourably and for a higher sum if we confirm with our certificate that your machine has no hidden defects. Then our partner will also be able to sell your machine for a higher price, and all parties win.
I repeat again, we do the inspection INDEPENDENTLY so that nothing from the outside influences the results of the inspection. We are not in the employ of any dealer or printing equipment manufacturer.
There are two scenarios when you have purchased equipment from a dealer or printer but would like to supervise their loading.
1. Order our person to be present for dismantling and loading. We will send him to the place of work, where we will check the quality of dismantling, packing, condition of pallets, make necessary recommendations.
2. Entrust the dismantling to our reliable service. Our team also consists of Heidelberg and MAN ROLAND trained specialists. All possible problems are insured for more than 1 million euros. This includes damage to equipment during dismantling, rigging and life insurance for workers. We work all over the world – from Europe to the USA and India – and we speak English, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian. Just let us know what you want to do and we will find a solution.
